POSTING WORKERS TO NORWAY

Must Read

A study visit to Norway, within POSTEN Project, was realized from March 2 to 4. Representatives of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia (CATUS) and Romanian CNSL Cartel ALFA exchanged information with the trade union Solidaritet Norge in the field of posting workers. The aim of the visit was to transfer knowledge and experience, as well as to get acquainted with good practices in advocacy and protection of the rights of posted workers.
The meetings presented the challenges and importance of information for workers and employers and exchanged information on the implementation of the revised Directive EC/957/2018 and the Enforcement Directive EC/67/2014.
During the visit, the role of trade unions in European labor mobility was discussed and the importance of transnational cooperation in this area and the possibility of open trade union membership in order to better protect workers within the EU were pointed out.
Cooperation with the Labor Inspectorate is very important, as well as exchanging good practices and further improving the IMI system, where EU candidate countries would also participate. In addition to the information needed by unions and posted workers, improving employers’ knowledge of referral conditions and procedures in accordance with the law, as well as remuneration, social security and OSH standards are necessary to avoid doubts and misapplications.
