CATUS Calls for Urgent Action to Resolve Salary Compression

Must Read

Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia (CATUS) requested an urgent meeting with the Serbian Government because of the problems caused by the salary compression.
In the letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Minister of Labour, it was pointed out to the disruption in the salary system triggered by the minimum wage increase without the adequate and proportional adjustment of other salaries.
This resulted in a salary compression, i.e. equalization of salaries among employees with different responsibility levels, qualifications and work experience. CATUS warns that, in the absence of institutional response, it will initiate protests and other forms of trade union activity.
