Trade Union of Employees in Science of Serbia organized a protest at Nikola Pašić square. Scientists demand from the state to provide equal pay for equal work and secure jobs for all scientists and researchers.
After they got together, protesters went to the Government building where they submitted their demands.
As they explained, their problems started 11 years ago and they still haven’t been solved. They want steady jobs and equal pay for equal work, as well as better status at faculties and institutes.
At the protest marking the 20th anniversary of the Trade Union of Employees in Science of Serbia, President Đurđica Jovović, Ph.D. stated that scientists were dissatisfied with their status. They had enough of tons of papers they sent the authorities without getting a concrete solution. Above of all, it was shameful of the state with such a huge number of scientific workers to treat them that way.
