According to the announcement of the Autonomous Trade Union of Employees in Pre-School Institutions of Serbia, who is the organizer of this protest, this is the first step in the upcoming trade union activities that will be taken unless Serbian Government fulfills the demands for the pay rise.
Trade Union asks for a pay rise of 21% starting from January 1, which would make the pay of technical staff only 5% higher than the minimum wage while the basic salary for those with the highest co-efficient would reach national average wage.
Trade Union points out to the rise of living cost and food prices while the average wage of employees in pre-school institutions is now 30% lower than the national average wage.
